We have a faculty that is genuinely interested in undergraduate teaching with strengths in public policy; political behavior and institutions; international affairs; comparative politics; law and politics; ethics; and political theory. Most of our intermediate and advanced courses are relatively small in class size and are taught by professors who are both active in our discipline and strong teachers. Each year over 100 students graduate from the department's undergraduate program with a Bachelor of Arts degree. The department also offers a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree and a Doctoral (Ph.D.) program designed to prepare students for teaching and research careers. Feel free to contact the department for more information or with any questions you may have.

New Faculty Hires
Daniel P. Aldrich is joining the department as an Assistant Professor of Public Policy. He is currently an Advanced Research Fellow at Harvard University's Program on US-Japan Relations. Political Science majors have the opportunity to become a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society. PSA is the only honor society for college and university students of government in the United States. The Purdue University Delta Omega chapter organizes many activities throughout the year, including faculty and student colloquia, law school forums, resume workshops, and an end-of-the-year initiation cookout! See Purdue's Pi Sigma Alpha website for more information.
Support from our alumni and friends makes it possible for us to strengthen our Political Science program at Purdue. These contributions help us to support our students in a variety of ways; from independent research projects and research awards
to
recruitment and receptions recognizing student academic achievement. Support provides students with opportunities that would may not have been possible otherwise.
