Political Science Undergraduate Lab Policies
  • The lab is not open on University holidays or breaks.

    The times that the lab is in use for classes is posted. During this time, the lab is not available for general student use. If you are using the lab and a class is starting, please save your work and exit so that the students can take their seats. 
  • Additional and special class sessions may also held throughout the semester. Notice about these classes will be posted on the lab door.  
  • Please report any malfunctioning machine to the lab assistant.  
  • Food and drink are not permitted in the lab.  
  • Please remove your papers and other materials around the machines when you leave. 
  • As the semester proceeds, there may be additional undergraduate demand and courses that may require modification of these procedures and access.  
  • The computers are provided to support students in their academic work. Other work, including commercial, non-profit and political is not permitted.  
  • The equipment setup including start-up files, Windows environment, printer settings and cables should not be altered.  
  • All equipment is property of Purdue University. Data files used on this equipment are subject to review and removal to protect system integrity and University liability.  
  • Equipment at the front and back of the room is for instruction use only. The phone is to be used only to contact the Department Lab Coordinator for assistance.  
  • Adjust window shades as needed, but the windows must remain closed.  
  • Desk are provided for equipment and materials and chairs for seating; neither are for foot rests.  
  • Lab computer disk space is reserved for application programs and data. Personal files should be saved on network drives or other media.  
  • All software installed on the computers is licensed to Purdue University. Students should not install any software until approved by the Lab Coordinator.
