Research

Empirically, Laurel Weldon's work so far focuses on policies on violence against women, with some work on living wage and anti-poverty policies. Her theoretical work focus is social structures and public policy, and exploring the implications of patterns of group inequality for democratic politics and policy making. She is especially interested in the political impact of social movements and specialized bureaucratic agencies, in analysing how these phenomena reflect and transform social structures, and in turn, democratic policymaking.
