Research

Professor Shaffer, a specialist on political parties and behavior, is at present actively involved in research on the origins of political parties and legislative behavior. His published books include Computer Simulations of Voting Behavior, Party and Ideology in the United States Congress, and Politics, Parties, and Parliaments . In addition, Professor Shaffer has published a number of articles in scholarly journals. He is especially interested in working with students in the areas of political parties, legislative behavior, and electoral behavior.
